How our gear is made (plain and simple)
Designed, printed, and packed in Nova Scotia. Every graphic is created by us, and every shirt or hoodie is pressed and shipped from our shop in Pictou County using transfers made by a Nova Scotia–based supplier.
Two honest sourcing paths (both support Canadian jobs)
- Canadian-made tees (Stanfield’s): 100% made-in-Canada garments, then printed and packed by our team here at home.
- Internationally sewn staples (Gildan & others): Blanks are typically sewn in Central America or the Caribbean. We handle the design, printing, and fulfillment here in Nova Scotia.
Reality of sourcing & where impact happens
Even companies founded in Canada—like Gildan—designing their products with Canadian standards and values, must source materials internationally. That’s simply the reality of our climate and our economy.
But here’s where the difference happens. Once those blank garments land in Canada, it’s Canadian hands, Canadian workers, and Canadian businesses that keep the impact here at home:
- Canadian distributors move these products across the country, employing people in warehouses, offices, and trucking operations.
- Unionized shipping carriers like Purolator, UPS, and Canada Post deliver these goods—and your orders—coast to coast, providing good-paying, stable jobs for thousands.
- Small businesses like ours—a real mom-and-pop shop—take these garments and turn them into something that proudly represents who we are.
Why offer both?
Carrying only Canadian-made blanks — especially 100% cotton tees comparable to a Gildan blank — would push retail prices roughly 2×–3× higher. Offering a mix lets us keep everyday pieces affordable while still keeping the value (and the jobs) here at home through local printing and fulfillment.
What doesn’t change
- Small, family-run company: It’s still Andrew, Louise, and a small team doing the work you see.
- Local impact: Whether the blank is Canadian-made or internationally sewn, your order funds work here — design, printing, packing, support, and community sponsorships.
- Satisfaction Guarantee: You’re covered. If something isn’t right, our Satisfaction Guarantee has you looked after — just reach out.
The people behind your order (the personal side)
Your parcel’s journey, step by step:
- Design & setup (Pictou County, NS): We create the artwork, prep the films/transfers, and stage garments.
- Printing & quality check (in-house): Each piece is pressed on our industrial heat presses, checked by hand, and folded using our “Maritime hug” method.
- Packing & paperwork (our shop): Labels, packing slips, and a handwritten “thanks.”
- On the road (drivers & depots): Local route drivers pick up daily. From there, depot teams, sorters, and linehaul drivers move your parcel through the network with tracked shipping and scan updates.
- At your door: A delivery driver completes the last mile — often someone who knows your community well.
Where your dollars go (Canadian jobs, real impact):
- Local production & creative work: Designers, press operators, packers, and customer care — our team in Nova Scotia.
- Suppliers & partners: Canadian distributors, a Nova Scotia transfer maker, and domestic print/packaging suppliers.
- Shipping network jobs: Pick-up drivers, depot clerks, sorters, dispatchers, and last-mile drivers who keep parcels moving.
- Community support: Sponsorships, local services, and the everyday spend that keeps small towns vibrant.
Why we talk about this:
“Shop Canadian” isn’t just a label — it’s a chain of people. Even when a blank is sewn internationally, every order still creates work here at home: design, printing, packing, service, and delivery. That’s why we’re transparent about both sourcing paths and clear about the shared outcome: good work for Canadian hands.
How this fits with our sourcing (quick recap)
- Canadian-made tees (Stanfield’s): 100% made in Canada, then printed and packed by us in Nova Scotia.
- Internationally sewn staples (Gildan & others): Blanks typically sewn in Central America or the Caribbean; we design, print, pack, and ship in Nova Scotia.
- Why both: Offering only Canadian-made blanks — especially 100% cotton tees comparable to a Gildan blank — would push retail prices about 2×–3× higher. Our mix keeps prices fair and keeps the work local.
What we offer
We’ve got a wide range of Canadian identity designs available on tees, hoodies, hats, totes, aprons, and more, in a variety of colours — all finished by our team in Nova Scotia. (Canadian-made items are clearly marked on product pages.)
Want help choosing?
If you want made-in-Canada from fabric to finish, look for Stanfield’s (clearly labeled). If you want everyday value with the same local printing and care, choose our internationally sewn basics. Either way, tracked shipping and our Satisfaction Guarantee have you covered.
Proudly bringing a little Maritime love to your doorstep.
